Maidstone-based property management business AM Surveying & Block Management has today announced it will be moving into a sustainable new business premises with the support of a seven-figure loan from Allica Bank.

Maidstone-based property management business AM Surveying & Block Management has today announced it will be moving into a sustainable new business premises with the support of a seven-figure loan from Allica Bank.

AM Surveying & Block Management is a family-run firm founded in 1979. It specialises in residential block management, surveying and property consultancy across London and the South East.

Since taking over the company from his parents, owner Matthew Mackintosh has expanded AM’s services and adopted cutting-edge technology to improve the customer experience, such as a live tracking system providing clients with real-time updates on maintenance issues, property inspections, and urgent repairs.

Alongside this, the business has expanded its in-house services for residents and leaseholders to offer the likes of communal cleaning and groundskeeping, and legal and insurance guidance. The pace of growth meant the business had outgrown its existing HQ and required a brand new space.

The perfect new head office was found in Orchard House, Coxheath, Maidstone - an energy-efficient property powered by its own on-site solar farm and heat pumps. Now renamed Penelope House, after Matthew’s newborn daughter, the 7,200 sq. ft headquarters was carefully selected to support AM Surveying & Block Management’s continued growth while also aligning with its commitment to sustainability.

The property is fully self-sufficient in electricity and heating, making it not only environmentally responsible but also highly efficient for business operations. The headquarters features a state-of-the-art boardroom for resident and leaseholder meetings, electric vehicle charging bays and a dedicated staff gym to promote employee health and wellness.

Allica Bank – a challenger bank for established businesses – was able to offer AM a £1.2 million commercial mortgage, along with an additional £300,000 loan to cover other expenses. Allica says it worked closely with the company’s accountant to get the loan over the line.
