When a loved one or business partner dies, the last thing you want to do is contact a dozen different organisations to have a dozen versions of the same conversation.
The Death Notification Service makes it easier to share the news of someone’s passing.
You complete one online form and the service tells all the relevant organisations that are signed up. They’ll then contact you individually if they need you to complete any follow-up actions.
The service is free to use and includes 48 financial services firms, including banks, pension providers, and insurers.
To be clear: not all banks and firms are signed up to the service. You might still need to contact other providers separately.
This is a similar arrangement to the government’s Tell Us Once service, which contacts organisations like HMRC, the passport office, and the local council.
More support from Allica Bank
“The death of a loved one, friend, or business partner is heartbreaking, but it’s also really demanding. Grief can take up so much of your headspace, the last thing you want to consider is a load of admin.
Being part of The Death Notification Service means we’re taking one job off a grieving person’s to-do list. And if you do need to speak to us directly, we’ll be there to help with sensitivity and understanding.”
Matt Collins
Operations Manager at Allica Bank
As Matt touches on above, we’re still available to talk to you even though we’re part of The Death Notification Service. If you need to speak to us, we’ll give you the time and support you need. Our aim is to get this job ticked off your list as quickly and easily as possible.
We also offer additional support for vulnerable customers. This includes people who have experienced a recent bereavement.
